Miracle Miles 10K

look at us...happy and blissfully unaware of the pain to come (well me, not him)
Russ & I ran from the Morro Rock to the Cayucus pier. This was my first time running with him. A little back history...Russ has run several 100 milers, marathons..etc.. and was a coach. He just had knee surgery a year or so ago and kept telling me that he did not know if he could keep up with my 9-minute-mile....Yeah right, Definitely not falling for that one!

We started good and then it began....Russ strategized the entire run. He would tell me how far we were, what our time was and that I needed to go faster.... then he would help by giving me advice on my frame (this was very helpful). The man who was not sure he could keep up with me was doing just fine... In fact, on the last mile everyone around me and myself were feeling the pain and trying to stay in the zone when we hear a cell phone ringing and Russell says "HELLO"....Are YOU Kidding me!!! He had a little conversation and then got back to the race. There was no heavy breathing or much sweating going on there. He is amazing! The race was much harder than my Zion run, but thanks to Russ's encouragement I was only two minutes slower (56 min.).

This is our after race sweaty picture...happy that we are done! I really enjoyed running with Russ and learned a lot!

Lexie and Katie ran six miles with Greg to meet us at the end...impressive hugh!

E's Baptism

It is great to be eight! E has been so excited to be 8. He had a big birthday party, started cub scouts and was baptized. At his baptism he said "I have been waiting my whole life for this day." He always cracks us up!

E's grandparents, Aunt, teachers, leaders and family friends came to support him in his choice to be baptized. He welcomed everyone as they came and was so happy to see so many there. Grandpa Tom gave the talk on baptism... E said that Tom knew everything about Heavenly Father and was the perfect choice to speak and he asked Cameron Kerr to talk about the Holy Ghost because he is so cool! Watching Fly Guy baptize E was an amazing experience. We look forward to E learning more about his Savior and gaining a testimony for himself.

The School Play

As you have probably noticed, I have been trying to catch up with my posting. When there are fun items to post about, I am too busy to do it. I wanted to share my funny but, proud mom moment.

The other day as I was picking up E from school, he told me that he needed to stay after to audition for the main part in their upcoming school play. I was shocked as I followed him into the auditions. Every child was standing up with their prepared parts speaking perfectly in spanish and all that I could think was YIKES what is E going to do....honestly I was afraid that he would embarass himself. I had not even heard about this play until that moment, so I knew he had not practiced or prepared.
Then it was his turn....breathing slowly (me)...he begins...
the teacher starts narrating and E starts acting out what she is saying...he chops down a tree, looks around and then gets sleepy and lays down to sleep....about ten minutes later he wakes up in wonder, looks around more (directed through narration) and then walks off the stage.....Are you kidding me!!! How funny is that...my son picks the one part where he will not have to speak one word in spanish or sing. He did get the part and he was so proud of himself! E always surprises me...I am happy that he knows what he wants and feels comfortable going for it!

The Sassy One is 4!

Too cute, three little girlfriends...S invited her good friends from church to her birthday party. We ate pizza, made ice cream and the girls decorated flower pots and planted flowers. They mainly enjoyed playing with each other.

the girls enjoying their flowers...

her first bike...she picked an all frills bike and loves it! she rides it all the time...we are loving that...

S is full of energy, definitely a girl... but can defend herself at all times, loves to learn new things and is very social. We love her smile and contagious laugh...

Happy Birthday E!

A new bike....E picked out this new bike, green of course, and wanted to ride it all day. E is eight and we can't believe it! E is our funny, determined, social, and smart little guy. We love him more than we thought possible.

E had an Adventure Birthday Party at his grandparents house. The kids searched for clues that started at the tree house and eventually took them on a journey through the yard. They had so much fun!

The kids had to cross the rope bridge to get to the zip line for their next clue!

Jacob taking a leap of faith and loving it!!
Some of the kids were nervous at first, but once they did the zip line, they loved it! Next time, we will let them just do the zip line because it was so popular.

We ended the day by cooking hot dogs, decorating cupcakes and opening gifts. The kids were really dirty, which they loved even more.

E2's Big DAY!

Our big guy turned 1yr on May 4! We made pizza, ate cake and opened his new wagon and balls(he loves to throw). It was simple and fun.

E2, We love
-your sense of humor, especially the funny smirks
-ability to go with the flow
-amazing hugs and wet kisses
-the way you say Daaaaaad the second you wake up
-when you search for E to play with you in the morning
-how you make us want to smile when we see you
-the way you immediately start dancing when music plays
-how you can eat an entire crepe within seconds
-you...

look at that concentration....
