Random Updates

Parent-Teacher Conferences: This week has been minimum week...yuck! All the conferences are over and everything was positive...yeah!!! We have come a long way. E and K are doing really well and I am sooooo happy.

New Calling: I am now working in the Stake Primary presidency with some really fun women. The past few weeks have been ward conferences, so we have had a lot of meetings. Surprisingly, I think the hardest part of this job is sitting for hours at a time. Last Sunday, I was gone for 51/2 hrs. I do wish I had this calling before I was called as Primary President....so far these primaries are amazing and have really good ideas...I would have been way more prepared. These primaries that we visit really inspire and teach me.

Biting: E2 has been biting a lot! The other morning he even made me bleed...I am so done with breast feeding. The trick is getting him to drink milk. My goal is to be done within the week. Yeah...! Fly Guy is the only one disappointed! Oh Well!

No Running: I am struggling with the no running. My foot/ankle has been bothering for over a month, so I decided to stop running and doing my high impact workouts...it has really been hard. I am hoping this will be over soon!!!

you know you are Addicted when.......

• the only thing getting you through your cycling class is the reward of a diet pepsi on the way home
• diet pepsi is never put on the shopping list, because it is a given
• your husband's new "I'm Sorry" is walking through the door with a large diet pepsi
• foreplay can begin with receiving a large diet pepsi
• you have knowledge of how every gas station serves their soda
• your favorite sound is the psh ahh when the can is opened
• a fun activity with a friend is going to pick up a diet soda
• the highlight of your day is getting a large one

No More SPEECH!!!

K has been exited from Speech!! Three years later and K is doing amazing. I am so Happy! We were so worried about the decision to have him enter the bilingual school that his older brother attended. Often, when children have speech and language issues they do not get recommended for this foreign language program. We decided to send him and he has exceeded our expectations. His reading is way above level and I know that his speech challenges are part of the reason he has done so well. This may sound strange, but I think because he has had to work so hard and spend so much time sounding out his letters and improving the way he communicates, it has made him love language. He loves to spend time writing words in little notebooks and reading new books. I also feel grateful to have great speech programs in our area, that are free, available to us. All of this being said.....I am glad this challenge is through for now! It is always nice to see the reward at the end of a long road of hard work. I am so proud of our little guy...We think he is amazing!

Baseball

We signed E and K up for their first year in baseball. They are so happy and are learning so quickly. Trust me we will not be having any major league dreams, but they are both surprising me at how quickly they are improving. The best is seeing them excited and proud of themselves.

This process has been very eye openning for me. Who knew that we were so behind because our oldest is almost eight and has never played baseball. To some people, we have broken a major law or been seriously neglectful. People can be a little Intense! So far, the coaches have been really great and didn't even raise an eyebrow when I asked so many questions about what the boys should be wearing (no one else seemed to have the same issues). My friend Keara has saved me and walked me through the process. Her oldest is very athletic and done baseball for a long time. So, the boys are loving it and that is all that matters...plus they look cute in the outfits...!

The second thing I have discovered is what I hate the most. This week it has been rainy and cold. One of the worst things for me is dragging all four kids out to a two-hour baseball practice when it is FREEZING!! The kids actually have handled it better than me. I HATE to be wet and cold. I am just happy that we have three of the four practices done for the week and the weather will hopefully be turning around.
